Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to pressure test gas installation
- Job requirements and workplace procedures for the work are discussed with relevant person/s to confirm the work schedule
- Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental and sustainable energy measures and workplace policies and procedures for the work are obtained and applied
- Equipment, tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for pressure testing are identified, obtained and checked for correct operation and safety in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer instructions
- Resources and materials required to carry out the pressure test are obtained in accordance with workplace procedures
- Client issues are referred to relevant person/s in accordance with industry standards and workplace procedures
- Work site is prepared, safety plan and work schedule confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
- Carry out pressure test of gas installation
- Schedule of work is followed to ensure work is completed in agreed timeframe and to quality, safety and industry standards with a minimum of waste
- Conformance test is undertaken using correct tools and equipment in accordance with workplace procedures and industry standards
- Pressure test of the gas installation is undertaken using relevant pressure testing equipment in accordance with workplace procedures and regulatory requirements
- Customer piping system and associated components, including appliances, are pressure tested for conformance to industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Results of pressure test are analysed and non-compliant installations are disconnected in accordance with workplace procedures, industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Quality and safety checks of the work are undertaken in accordance with job instructions, industry standards and workplace procedures
- Complete pressure test and relevant documentation
- Final checks, including visual observation are undertaken to ensure quality of the work complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements and workplace procedures
- Relevant person/s are notified of work completion and non-conformances in accordance with workplace procedures
- Equipment, tools and any surplus materials or resources are cleaned, checked and returned to storage or disposed of in accordance with workplace procedures
- Work area is tidied and made safe in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures and sustainable energy practices are followed
- Records and documentation are updated in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures as required by the regulator
